How words and reading time are calculated

The tool counts word-like tokens made from letters or numbers, including contractions and hyphenated terms. Reading time divides the word count by the selected words-per-minute speed. Keyword frequency lowercases words, removes common stop words, and shows each remaining word's share of the total word count.
